Running & Reading
The Waterloo Region School Board, a number of local elementary schools, many interested volunteers, and LCA are teaming up to engage school children from elementary schools that have identified literacy issues. The program is designed to be almost entirely run by volunteers and focuses on increasing levels of physical fitness and literacy in lower income neighbourhoods in Waterloo Region.
Current Needs: Numerous opportunities exist for involvement. We are currently looking for volunteers for reading, fundraising, administration, mentoring, running, story-telling, and others. Contact us for details.
