Sunnydale Connect
In 2008, a few residents of the Sunnydale Community identified a need for the youth of the neighbourhood have a place to take part in a constructive social environment. And so Sunnydale Connect was born.
Sunnydale Connect is a program for youth grades 7 and up in the Sunnydale Community. The program represents an growing opportunity for both the youth and the adult volunteers who coordinate the program. Programming focuses on one of four themes in any given month: social awareness, community service, new experience, and creative expression. These themes offer a variety of valuable experiences for the youth. In addition, the youth experience consistent and caring relationships with adult leaders who offer guidance and support both within and outside of the context of the program.
Efforts are ongoing to make Sunnydale Connect both a valuable experience for the youth and a sustainable program within the community.
