Onzole River Project
The Onzole River in Ecuador is home to a number of communities who are largely neglected by the government of Ecuador. LCA has partnered with many people in order to bring support to these communities in several ways.
Workshop
In 2010 LCA sent a number of teams of volunteer labourers to Onzole to help the villagers construct a workshop. This workshop will give the people of Onzole a place to gain practical vocational skills and a way to generate income.
Community Center
In spring 2011, LCA sent three teams of volunteers to Onzole to construct a multi-purpose community centre which will serve as a computer lab, sewing workshop, and library – the only library along the river system.
Health Assessment
LCA sent a team of health care professionals to Onzole to complete a community health assessment for the health / wellness / nutrition needs of the Onzole River communities, providing health clinics in several villages.
